Leadership coaching and team development
Lead people well in changing conditions
Leading a team or business can mean holding competing priorities, people needs and complex choices, often while the conditions around you keep changing. Leadership coaching creates protected space to step out of the day-to-day, get clearer on what matters most, understand your strengths and what motivates you, and work through the choices ahead.
Drawing on more than 15 years of senior leadership experience, I work alongside established leaders, business owners and teams, bringing perspective, challenge and support as you find the approach that works best for you, your team and your situation.
Based on Vancouver Island, BC, I work with leaders and business owners locally and online.

Understanding Motivation with Motivational Maps®
What gives us energy at work is not always what we first think.
Motivational Maps® is a self-perception tool that helps make motivation more visible.
Your personalized 15-page map report identifies what motivates you most at work and how well those needs are currently being met.
It also gives us useful information to explore: what gives you energy, what may be draining it, what might be changing and the conditions that help you do your best work.
For individuals
Understanding your motivation can help you:
Build greater self-awareness around what gives you energy at work
Recognize why some roles, tasks or situations feel more motivating than others
Explore the working conditions in which you are likely to do your best
Make more informed choices about your role, priorities and development
Have more useful conversations about what you need at work
Sometimes a Map confirms what you already suspected. Sometimes what motivates you most is not what you expected.
For teams
Individual Maps can also be brought together to create a Team Map, giving the team a picture of both shared motivators and important differences.
This can help teams:
Develop a shared language for talking about motivation
Improve communication by recognizing that people are motivated by different things at work
Spot possible sources of tension or misunderstanding
Think differently about responsibilities, recognition and ways of working
Support engagement by creating conditions that take different motivators into account
Have better conversations about what may help people want to stay, contribute and do good work
The aim isn't for everyone to be motivated by the same things. It is to understand the differences well enough to work with them.
Team Motivational Map® Workshop
Motivational Maps® can also be delivered as part of a facilitated team workshop.
We bring the individual maps together to create a team map and in the workshop explore shared motivators, differences and what they mean for how the team works together.
This is a fun, interactive and very practical workshop that supports the team communication, engagement and overall performance.
Workshops and Facilitation
I design practical, interactive workshops tailored to the team or group in the room.
The workshops are filled with energy, structure and plenty of opportunities for people to think, discuss and take part. Sessions can include facilitated discussion, reflection, group activities and practical tools to use afterwards.
Topics can include:
Leadership and self-leadership
Communication and difficult conversations
Motivation and strengths
Priorities and decision-making
Working well through change
Team ways of working
Motivational Maps® team workshops
Human skills in an AI-enabled workplace
I can adapt an existing workshop or design something around your team’s needs

Important details for leaders or business owners exploring coaching or workshops
-
A Motivational Map® is an ISO 17065-accredited self-perception tool that looks specifically at motivation rather than personality. It identifies nine different motivators, which are most important to you, and how well those needs are currently being met.
-
Yes. I can adapt an existing workshop or design a session around a specific challenge, goal or topic. Sessions are interactive and shaped around the people in the room, with a focus on useful discussion, practical learning and clear takeaways.
-
No. Those approaches can all be useful, but coaching has a different purpose.
My role is not to arrive with a ready-made answer or tell you what you should do. I work alongside you as a trusted partner, creating space for you to explore what feels most useful at the time.
That might be a specific issue, a decision you are working through, a conversation you need to prepare for, or simply taking time to step out of the day-to-day and look at the bigger picture.
I bring perspective, challenge and support, while you decide what works best for you and your situation.
