Leadership support grounded in real-world experience
A Bit About Me
Hi, I’m Suzie and I’m so glad you are here.
With more than 15 years leading teams and businesses, I know that leadership rarely comes with one simple answer.
There are people to support, priorities to balance, decisions to make and plenty that can change along the way. My role as a coach is to give you the space, support and challenge to work through what’s in front of you and find the approach that works for you.
My background spans senior leadership, general management, education and learning and development, across the UK and Canada. That experience shapes how I coach today. I understand both the human side of leadership and the practical realities of getting work done.
I’m also a licensed Motivational Maps® practitioner, which gives us another way to explore what motivates you or your team, what may be changing and how that can affect the way you work.
Originally from Scotland, I moved to Vancouver Island eight years ago and now call Campbell River home. Outside work, you’ll usually find me with my family, experimenting in the kitchen or trying to read a book while one or both of our dogs compete for the same spot.

Built for Change
I’m also co-founder of Built for Change, where I work alongside Lori Lynch to support business owners and teams as they adapt to changing conditions.
We bring together leadership, people and practical ways of working to help businesses strengthen what is already working, reduce friction and build for what comes next.
FAQs: Essential Information for Leaders and Teams
-
Leadership coaching is a confidential partnership that gives you dedicated space to step out of the day-to-day, explore what is most important for you and work out how you want to move forward.
I work alongside you as a trusted guide, offering perspective, support and thoughtful challenge as you think through priorities, people, changing conditions and the wider demands of leading.
The focus is shaped around what is most useful to you at the time, rather than following a fixed programme or giving you a ready-made answer.
-
I work with established leaders and business owners who want dedicated space to step back, think through what is in front of them and lead well through changing conditions.
You might be leading a team, running a business, working through a period of change or simply carrying a lot of responsibility and wanting somewhere to think without the usual day-to-day demands.
Coaching is a good fit if you value having a trusted partner alongside you to bring perspective, support and thoughtful challenge while you work out what is right for you.
-
Each coaching session is confidential, collaborative, and tailored to your goals. All sessions are client-led, allowing you to explore your current challenges, identify your own unique opportunities and develop clear individualized strategies. Sessions blend reflection, practical tools, and action planning to ensure meaningful, lasting change.
-
Suzie offers both formats. Sessions and workshops can take place online via video call or in person on Vancouver Island, depending on your preference.
-
Most clients work with me for either three or six months, usually meeting every two weeks.
A three-month coaching partnership includes six sessions, while a six-month partnership includes twelve.
If you need something different, we can also shape an arrangement around your situation, goals and the level of support that would be most useful.
-
Yes. I provide a complimentary 30-minute introductory call to ensure the coaching partnership is a good fit and to explore your goals.
-
Absolutely. Team coaching and facilitated workshops can give your team dedicated space to step out of the day-to-day, strengthen how they communicate and work through what will help them work well together.
Sessions are tailored around your team, your culture and what you want to achieve. That might mean improving communication, building trust, clarifying expectations, understanding motivation or working through change together.
My role is to create the structure, questions and space that help your team have useful conversations, hear different perspectives and agree what they want to take forward.
